Its works towards sensitizing the government and the community as a whole, towards crucial professional and healthcare Concerns, supporting the cause of pharmacy and striving towards producing skilled, innovative and competent healthcare professionals along with the development of their overall persona for the betterment of the Society.

World Pharmacists' Day 2022


On September 25, 2022, the IPA-MSB-SF hosted an on-ground celebration in honour of World Pharmacists' Day. The event was held in collaboration with MET Institute of Pharmacy, Bandra. This event was chiefly organized to honour a few invaluable personalities in the pharmaceutical arena.

The theme of the event was 'Pharmacy: United in Action for a Healthier World,' and it aims to showcase pharmacy’s positive impact on health around the world and to further strengthen solidarity among the profession. This event wouldn't have been possible without the constant guidance and support of Dr. Anand Shedge, who is the Vice-President of IPA-MSB, and the Mentor of IPA-MSB-SF.

The day began with registrations, and breakfast organized by the Students' Council of METIOP. The hosts for the event were Mr. Kashif Ali Shaikh (Joint Pharmacy Education Officer, IPA-MSB-SF) and Ms. Anupama Nair (Joint Public Health Officer, IPA-MSB-SF). The PowerPoint presentation was presented by Ms. Khushee Jaiswal (Cell member, Pharmacy Education Office, IPA-MSB-SF). The distinguished guests lit the lamp to signal the start of the celebration. Sakshi Upadhyay, Associate Editorial Officer for IPA-MSB-SF, and also a student of METIOP, then recited the Saraswati Vandana. Later, the honorable Chief Guest, Mr. Mahesh Zagade; Guest Of Honor, Mr. Subodh Priolkar; Guests - Dr. Abha Doshi, Dr. S. D. Bhosale, Dr. M. S. Gadge, Dr. K. N. Gujar, Mr. S. D. Jog, Ms. Sheeja Koliyote, Ms. Aushima Dasari, Ms.Vaishali Malvankar, Ms. Sushma Gokhale, and Mrs. Swati Priolkar were welcomed and felicitated.

Next, speeches were delivered by Mr. Mahesh Zagade and Mr. Subodh Priolkar. The guests were then felicitated with the Pharmacy Samman Award for their tremendous support towards IPA-MSB-SF and their amazing commitment as pharmacy professionals by Mr. Mahesh Zagade and Mr. Subodh Priolkar. The Pharmacy Samman awardees were Dr. Farida Virani, Dr. Tabassum Khan, Dr. Mohan Kale, Dr. Swati Patil, Dr. Paraag Gide. The next award was Star Pharmacist Award and Star Community Pharmacist in recognition of the contributions made to the community and the wellbeing of the people. The Star Hospital Pharmacist Awardees were Mrs. Hemangi Joshi, Mr. Sheetal Chandan. The Star Community Pharmacists were Mr. Vivek Shinde, Mr. Swapnil Jagdale, Mr. Mahendra Rajpurohit and Mr. Umesh Tiwari. Dr. Tabassum Khan delivered a wonderful speech on behalf of our Pharmacy samman awardees. Dr. K. N. Gujar delivered a very motivating speech on this prestigious occasion. He delivered his speech in marathi language for the audience. The event was concluded with a vote-of thanks by Mr. Pravin Tak, Chairperson, IPA-MSB-SF for the academic year 2021-22.

This celebration proved to be valuable for all the 360+ attendees, who could witness speeches of great personalities, and learn from their experiences. The collaboration of METIOP and IPA-MSB-SF proved to be fruitful, with smooth running throughout. We wish everyone a very Happy Pharmacists' Day once again!
