DAY 2: VISta of technology
Event- Improv
Improv was an event that challenged the acting and story writing skills of participants. They had to improvise known movie scenes by creating twists or by adding characters. They were given 45 seconds to prepare and come up with a new storyline and had to present it for 120 seconds.
Escape rooms have always been a favorite event for all but the Cultural committee brought a huge twist to it by hosting it online. This time based event had 3 rounds where each team consisted of 2 members. Abandoned on a deserted planet either in a warehouse or among aliens, the participants were expected to solve puzzles and crosswords to escape.
Sometimes the best thing to come out of a movie is a blistering review. This event ensured a reliable review of movies filled with humor and wit. The participants had to submit their reviews on movies or series of their choice.
Beatboxing is a form of vocal percussion primarily involving the art of mimicking drum machines, using one's mouth, lips, tongue, and voice. Organized by the Cultural committee, the participants were not allowed to use instruments or background music. This event was judged by Corner Café Chronicles, an Electro- rock band. This band has performed at Vh1 Music Day Festival and has also been added to notable playlists like ‘Rock in India’ and ‘Sounds of Mumbai’.
A food for the soul, this event put the improvisation and spontaneity of the participants into test. The participants were given 3 minutes to pen down a poem on the word given on spot. Language of the poem was left upon the participants. It could have been English, Hindi, Marathi or a mixture of all three languages.
In this one-of-a-kind event, the participants had to act from behind a mask. By hiding their faces they had to convey the emotions of their characters on a particular topic. From spine chilling to heartwarming performances were delivered by participants under their mask.
Due to lockdown, workout and fitness regimes were compromised. So the Sports committee introduced a new event to test the tenacity of participants. This time based workout challenge consisted of 3 rounds. The exercises that were included are- Suryanamaskars, Burpees, Squats, Lunges, Crunches, Planks and Skipping.
Organised by the Pharmacy Education Office, in this event the participants were meant to bring up current topics and were expected to present their point of view on the same. The participants showcased their presentation skills through topics related to Pharmaceutics and Biotechnology.
Conducted by the Editorial committee, this mind bending event tested the word skills of the participants. The rounds included events like- rearranging jumbled words, finding words from their given meaning and spelling the word within the given time.
In this event, the participants had to creatively express themselves as another person by sharing their emotions from their point of view. Participants were allotted a topic based on a real-life event or any current situation.
