BLOOD DONATION CAMP - LALBAUG

This year, the Indian Pharmaceutical Association – Students’ Forum Maharashtra State Branch collaborated with one of the biggest blood donation camps in Mumbai organized by the Lalbaugcha Raja Ganeshotsav Mandal. It was conducted on the 6th of August, 2017.
Almost 400 volunteers of IPA-SF-MSB from around 9 different colleges participated and worked with dedication throughout the day. They estimated the haemoglobin content of the donors before they donated blood to ensure they were healthy donors. Special training sessions were conducted for all the volunteers to ensure that they could efficiently carry out the haemoglobin estimation.
The response of the crowd was overwhelming and they donated blood without hesitation. 700 beds were arranged on the day. A total of 15000 units of blood were collected. The camp was organized in a much disciplined manner checking whether each and every donor was fit enough to donate blood.
The volunteers worked sincerely and this helped gain motivation for more people to donate blood. The community came together to participate with great enthusiasm and it created an awareness of their social responsibilities.
